Long story short...

Picked my new RR Sport on Saturday 18th. Loving it.

Same day, get knocking from gearbox, dealership tells me to take it in and they will sort.

Monday 20th - take car in - get Freelander 2 as courtesy car whilst they investigate.

Tuesday 21st - told to pick up car, knocking noise sorted by transmission flush. One happy customer.

Map below shows the dealership in bottom right hand corner... Badger street is where an old woman in a Renault Clio "Didn't see" the give way lines and hit my (just collected) car at 30mph.




Fantastic, Luckily they admitted full liability. I have a few damaged panels, her car is written off - no one hurt thankfully.


After getting home, I since find out that the Freelander 2 I had as a courtesy car has had damage sustained to the bumper whilst I had it (Which I don't believe) and need to go to the dealership to discuss tomorrow.

Whoop-de-doo! Is Range Rover Sport ownership always this interesting?

Its actually that bad, I'm getting a bit tipsy and laughing about it. I'm sure I won't tomorrow!

Finally.......I have found someone who is in same boat as me. If it weren't for bad luck, I'd have none at all.
Truly sorry to hear your tails of woe, it can only get better. Did you do walk round inspection when you collected loan car? Having had an attempted sting of £1000 excess for exactly the same issue when Bristol Land Rover was Hunters, I never accept the service bods diagram and often have to add damage to their check.  2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀
TDV8 Sport HSE...... Gone. Loved it but it didn't love me!!
Now rolling in MY10 Fullfat TDV8 Vogue. Slammed it to go round corners🙈

TDV8 Sport HSE...... Gone. Loved it but it didn't love me!!
Now rolling in MY10 Fullfat TDV8 Vogue. Slammed it to go round corners🙈

Well, to be honest, it sounds like a tow bar has hit it from the description. For a tow bar to hit a Freelander bumper - it's going to be a pretty high up tow bar... like.. say for example, a Discovery / Range Rover / Defender... oooh now what type of cars are parked in a Land Rover dealership I wonder?

Tell em to foxtrot oscar. Or ask to view CCTV footage for period after it was dropped off until they phoned you. That should put em off.  2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀

Yup, if they didn't say anything/check it when you dropped it off, it's not your responsibility, tell them to jog on!

Luckily one of their drivers had said they had noticed the damage before I left with the car so I'm off the hook on that one, have a like for like replacement vehicle on it's way and i'll have my car back soon.

Must say the Stratstone Bury have been fantastic about the whole thing, the guy who sold me the car even offered to swap the car for another once I got it repaired as it's been a bit unlucky for me.

Wonder what my like for like will be. Fingers crossed on a brand new sport!
