United Kingdom 2005 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Arctic Frost

My dads went at 89000, let him down on the side of the road so he had to be recoverd. Had the car took to my house, and i did the job for him. £235.00 for a new denso alternator, the battery had also been damaged but was less than 12 months old, so that was replaced under warranty.

Australia

Mine just gave up the ghost this morning. After having new battery & belt fitted in December, the car developed bearing whine (unrelated??) which is apparently idler arm pulley... Car (TDV8 RRS) has done 192000km and alternator clagged it after a week of +40 degrees celsius with aircon flat out. Symptoms were pro forma - juke box in low-power mode... EGRs were replaced just last week - mechanic said he didn't disconnect battery, but I don't think that had anything to do with it. Mind you, after trawling the forums, it appears the beast has done OK with both the EGRs, battery and alternator lasting as long as they did. Just waiting for a turbo to go bang. Shocked in LR we trust
