England 2011 Range Rover Sport 3.0 TDV6 HSE Bali Blue
Front End Knock

Approx 12 months ago (@28k), I had the front ARB bushes replaced under warranty due to a front end knock. The replacement bushes fixed the knock completely.

Now at circa 38k, the knock has returned and is now worse then ever.

I am going to book the car back into the dealer for rectification, but as the warranty has now expired, I will probably have to pick up the bill.

I am a bit gutted that there appears to be a "type" fault that I will have to pay for.

Anybody had any joy with getting LR to pay for the repair out of warranty?

Somewhere in the back of my mind I thought LR dealer's repairs carried a warranty if genuine LR parts were used.

I remember when designing vehicle management software for major fleets some years ago the program recorded when parts like starters, alternators batteries etc were replaced to ensure the client's accounts department claimed the warranty. Obviously this will not apply to a 'wear and tear' item like pads, belts, clutch etc.

If your bushes were done under warranty that says that at that time LR admitted this was a defective component and it was not a wear and tear item. So - based on that argument, if the same component needs to be replaced and it is now less a year since the repair, but the originals qualified for replacement inside 2 years I'd certainly give it a whirl.

Should get a 12 month warranty on any work done at a garage. (Assuming it's the same fault). If it's just over 12 months it's worth asking for a goodwill contribution, although don't hold your breath lol
