No throttle response

This morning I drove my RRS 2.7D off the drive, put foot on accelerator and nothing happened for about 5 secs. It happened the other day too but only the once.
Anyway, thought it was because it was cold. Went to pull out at the junction, luckily nothing coming and no response again nothing for a 5-6 secs.
Pulled off at roundabout, same thing but noticed big plume of smoke in rear view mirror. Work 35 miles away so thought it would improve when warmed up but no stayed the same all the way to work. Should have turned back home really.
I have had it re-mapped by Quantum a while back, just before Xmas for the 3rd time as their promise of better MPG just didn't happen after first two attempts, MPG went down a lot compared to their promise of up.
Could this have an affect or is it The dreaded Torque Converter. In neutral it revs up fine, but it gear it doesn't want to pick up at all.

Thanks for the advise and when I drove it to my local Indie garage, it behaved itself no problem, however when he plug his reader in it came up with------------------------------------you guessed it right the egr valve. So have ordered a blanking kit and will be on this this weekend. Cheers.

Had the same problem, egr valves blanked off and problem solved. Be careful not to round off the soft alloy bolts if blanking off the valves....

Thanks for the advice. Do I leave the valve connected when blanked off or what.
Have seen the blanks on ebay for 50 quid.

You've got two options, leave everything connected and install blanking plates, should be about £8, or buy a kit that enables you to remove some components and hoses, cost about £50. From what I can gather there is no difference performance wise, it's just that some people prefer to de-clutter the engine bay if components are not needed, though this option foes involve a little more work. If anyone else knows otherwise please share the knowledge Question

As above but get the mapping checked after as removing/blanking off can change what the engine requires in fuel. 2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀

I have been reading with interest these posts regards EGR vLves, if it is so common place to blank off or remove these why are they fitted in the first place ?. Surely they must perform some worthwhile function... Maybe one of the more knowledgeable can explain Question 2010 RRS, TDV8

As the title says, exhaust re circulation. They basically feed the engine the exhaust gas at low revs/idle to Reburn gases which will contain particles of diesel. It is a way for manufacturers to get engines to conform to Euro5 spec engine emissions. Works great in theory, just not so well with modern sulphur free fuel that clogs up systems with Black Death carbon. Only countries that require these by law are Holland and Switzerland. Hope this helps Thumbs Up 2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀

Apologies for being technologically challenged but I don't know how to post the link, but if you type 'tdv6 egr blanking' into the eBay search bar you'll find a selection for under £10. There is a set from staffs 4 x 4 for £5 with free delivery.... Very Happy
