Aerial for remote heating

I have recently fitted my receiver and antenna to allow me to use the remote control option of the FBH. It took about 20 minutes in total and works ok. But having a browse on Topix web page yesterday and found the picture type instructions for the fitting which seems to show the position of the aerial as being stuck to the O/S/R window edge. I have just tucked mine underneath the headlining near to the tailgate opening and haven't even stuck it to the body of the car.

Can anybody confirm the best place to attach the aerial or if it even matters? thanks MY16 AUTOBIOGRAPHY Indus silver with some toys

Aerial Position

Hi Rigsby, I saw a post that said it should be fitted inside roof liningon roof, But i fitted mine behind the rear quarter panel on the O/S near to roof. It works fine. Thanks for all your previous help on this subject in the past. I had reason to use it the other day. All the cars on the car park of hotel were frosted up and were being scraped. Mine was all meltede and inside was warm Thumbs Up Thumbs Up itisme

If you order the right part that has the flat aeriel on, then I usually install it behind the C-pillar on the window but not visible.
If you have ordered the aerial with the connector on each end, it should be connected to a module behind the headlining.

Far easier to use the flat aerial. Thumbs Up Bodsys Brake Bible

RR Remote Aerial Fitting

Hi Bodsy. Yes i have fitted the flat aerial to the C panel close to the roof. The part number for the Flat one is LLR008654.
I didn't know there were two types, But thinking back, when talking to a LR Parts Dealer he said they called it a wire,so i suppose that was the other one Thumbs Up Thumbs Up itisme
