Rear Pads

Hi Guys, needing to replace rear brake pads, seen in bodys brake guide how to do it but I am just wondering, do I have to engage the sequence for the park brake for replaceing the shoes or just if replaceing the discs....Hopefully its just a straight forward out and in then could tackle myself.cheers. 2007 V8 HSE RRS STORNAWAY GREY

Just pads will be out and in, you're not touching the disc and the park brake shoes are inside / behind the disc..

have you got a new pad wear sensor? they can be got out if you soak in wd40 first and leave for a while then carefully prise out, unless light is already on, on the dash. 5.0 Ltr Superchrged RRS2, Chile Red, Sideways out of junctions!

Maybe I was lucky but my pad wear sensors were easy to remove and were re-used with no problems.

If they've not been serviced recently and you have the time it would be a good idea to strip, clean and lubricate the EPB shoes assembly and adjust them up as it may save you having problems with the EPB later. Not a job I'd want to tackle in the winter though unless you have a nice heated garage Thumbs Up 2008 MY Java Black TDV8 HSE

Pads are dead simple, but worthwhile getting a can of brake cleaner to clean it aLl up before pushing the pistons back. Thumbs Up Bodsys Brake Bible
