Vibration under braking

I've changed my rotors and pads on my RRSport and vibration started (Brembo Calipers on front).

Noticeable when light braking from 80 km/h. Under hard braking vibration is less felt.

First I changed the rear rotors and pads (brembo and mintex) no vibration.

Then i changed the front rotors and pads (brembo and mintex) and vibration started.

Called the parts supplier and they took around 2 month to give me new front rotors. When I removed the front rotors one had a dent from being droped during transportation. Changed the front rotors and vibration didn't go away. Bought new pads and didn't solve the problem. Remove new discs and measured hub to see if it was warped and only 0.005 mm on left and 0.004mm on right hub.

Any clues?

Thanks

Rotors = discs in the UK just in case anyone is confused by the terms. Thumbs Up

Did you check the run-out with the discs installed? This is what LR give as the limit:

Maximum disc run-out - disc installed 0.05 mm (0.002 in)

If the run-out is within spec. then you need to carefully check all the front suspension components for wear or damage. Particularly the bushes and ball joints.

Those are the most likely causes but here is link to an in-depth description of causes of brake judder:

I think I got 0.02 and 0.03 mm on the front discs.

Maybe It could be the rears as I didn't checked them yet.

Left the car in the mechanic as it was driving me crazy!

Will update when problem solved.

Thanks.

Tolerance for the for the rear disc is greater:

Maximum disc run-out - disc installed 0.09 mm (0.003 in)

Against all odds...warped rear disc! Brand new Brembo disc had to be skimmed.

Could have been a manufacturing fault but more likely to be a bit of contamination between the disc and hub when fitted.

Glad to hear you have fixed the problem Thumbs Up 2008 MY Java Black TDV8 HSE
