ERG fault

My engine light is on and i am told that this is due to faulty erg valve. Would you recommend changing the valves or blanking them off (this has been recommended by a back street garage and am unsure as to whether to proceed with this option). The car judders at low speeds; once you get to 50-60mph the car drives fine.

Has anyone else experienced this? Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Mark

You can't blank the EGRs as yet, on an 07MY car, as it interferes with the management system, and the light will stay on.

For now, the only option is to replace the faulty valve

It happened to me recently also.

Got in to drive away as normal and virtually nothing happened!! Shocked Shocked , then started to move very slowly, revs got to around 2000 and accelerated normally. At speed seemed to be OK but with definite clouds of smoke on acceleration.

I have the extended LR warranty and it was changed under this by the dealer, they did comment if it was retail they recommend to change both (there are two) but as warranty one only.

At least I know what it will be when the other gives out. Whistle
