Appreciate that but I was in off road mode with the boot open but the car still did it's own thing. Maybe I've got a fault?

^^ That does seem odd (the bit about the car 'sucking the wheel up'). I've jacked up the RRS numerous times for servicing and never seen that happen. As far as I know the suspension extends by gravity and/or air pressure but can't generate negative air pressure in the bag to 'suck' wheels up.

But if anyone know different now's their chance.......

Note the official LR procedure doesn't say anything about leaving doors or tailgates open or hazards on, removing fuses etc; and I've never done any of that.

Just put it in off road height so the jack doesn't have to lift the car to such a high angle and use a jack adapter to positively locate the jack in the chassis rail hole so it can't slip 2008 MY Java Black TDV8 HSE

It looks more like its releveling which gives the impression its sucking up, but I don't think it is (I know the wheel goes up but that doesn't mean its sucking up Mike

You engine isn't supposed to be running while jacking your car up though. Its going to try and self level isn't it

Correct, if you lift the car the conventional way.

Doing it the way shown you need the engine running and doors closed, because you use the levelling function to automatically lift the wheel(or have the ground fall away from it )

The way it works, engine running, you put the jack under the lower arm, lift a bit, wait a second and the car will try to level, causing the wheel to get off the ground. Zero effort. '08 RRS TDV8

Its not lifting the wheel though its moving the whole car while leaving the wheel in the same relative position, so the wheel lifts off the ground...but that's nothing to do with that corner of the car, its the other three corners.

Just like when you cross axle the wheel doesn't lift up the other corner (for an example) drops or the ground isn't there. Mike

No, I never wrote anything about sucking the wheel up.

The video is to show what might look like the wheel being sucked, and to show an alternate way to lift the wheel off the ground.

Whether by the above method, by jacking the car, by dipping one corner in a hole, being strapped to a crane or rolling on the roof, the end result is the car lifting the wheel off the ground.

In the video, if the car was sucking the wheel up, the tyre would never leave the ground. '08 RRS TDV8
