Is it possible to turn off that annoying seat belt warning? Is there a trick?

I did this on mine, as it got on my nerves on day one. Simple trick. L319 D4 HSE

This weekend finally pushed me over the edge. Please no more BONGGING I have had enough.

So I thought it time i tried out the suggested remedy for the seatbelt bong cure.

Yep It works fine.

My car is so quiet

On my 57 plate RRS I found that the ignition had to be in the on position, the passenger seat had to be empty and I had to sit in the drivers seat and do the nine times buckle/unbuckle thing with the drivers side seatbelt. Wait for the chime and then buckle and unbuckle one more time. This seems to have disabled both the driver and passenger seat belt warning chime in one move.

Why would you want to turn off the seatbelt warning chimes?

The reason the chimes are so annoying is to make sure you fasten your seatbelt. A device that could save your life one day.

I don't see any sensible reason why anyone should need to disable this important safety feature.

As I have a farm and am in and out of the car a lot going through the gates etc. the BONGING does get on your nerves so it was disabled the first day I got the car Sons of dogs come hither and get flesh

I drive more Sports and Discos then most people on the forum and most of the time without wearing the seatbelt. To be honest I ignore the chimes as I know I am only on a very short journey.

But I wouldn't dream of driving on the public highway without a seatbelt.

VA, I understand in your line of work you always need a camera close to hand. But it would be just as easy to drive around with the passenger seatbelt engaged instead of disabling the chimes. Arctic Frost TDV6 SE.
