Isn't it a Lion V6 developed jointly by Ford and Peugeot? It's a brilliant smooth engine. I drive an X5 40D, great car but the RRS TDV6 is smoother than the BMW, not bad for a Ford! Gone - 2008 Stornoway Grey RRS 2.7 TDV6

All Landrover products now have Ford engines - D3/D4/RRS since introduction, Defender from about 2007 with the Puma and RR from about 2007.

Historically Ford were the first manufacturers to build engines with 'balanced' parts (1960s) !!

Enginewise, Ford-powered LR's (diesel being PSA-Ford) must be the most reliable yet. Go and ask the FFRR-owners (2002-2005?) what they think. But go ahead and sell it, if you hate Ford that much..

You could but you'd be wrong. It was designed and developed by Ford in partnership with PSA along with several brands that were part of Ford's stable at the time. In the final analysis it's a Ford engine; and it's no worse for being so. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders 2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed |

Think in hind sight I would have preferred the ford V6 to the LR developed V8! The V6 is used in several models where as the v8 is only fitted to Range Rover brand so was under engineered and r&d was stunted. 2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀
