Engine

Hi guys, i have a range rover sport HSE 2006. THE PROBLEM IS THAT IT WONT START. PUT KEY IN IGNITION AND TURNS OVER BUT DOSENT START. ITS GOT FAULTS COMING UP ON SCREEN (HDC SYSTEM FAULT NOT AVAIBLE, TRANSMISSION FAULT, SUSPENSION FAULT, HAND BRAKE FAULT). IT ALSO HAS A SLIGHT KNOCK AND A LOT OF WHITE SMOKE COMING OUT THE EXHAUST? ANY HELP PLEASE!!

I THINK IT MIGHT BE INJECTORS OR EGR VAVLE?

What engine, diesel or petrol? I can't tell from your post and models and HSE doesn't mean much here. The knock would worry me a lot but knocks are not always perceived the same by all ears, a knock to you may not be a knock. I suspect its more serious than an EGR valve? Gone - 2008 Stornoway Grey RRS 2.7 TDV6

2.7 V8? You mean V6 right?

Sounds very fuel system related, either an injector or fuel pumo, or potentially a damaged piston.

Hard to remotely diagnose faults like this. Are there any fault codes stored?

Hi guys, I changed the injectors after and turned it over and it eventually started. I took it out for a drive and it seems to be running ok. The only problem is it takes ages to start. Turns over for at least 20 seconds and it starts. The other problem is I plugged it in and it comes up over fuelling? Do I need it remapping again? Thanks for your help.

Have you taken a sample of the fuel? Had a similar fault on a car of mine (not a LR) a few years ago and it was all down to some dodgy fuel Rolling Eyes

If there was water in the diesel would that come out with use or would it need draining?

I known when I drowned my enduro bike in water and it gets in the carb it needs draining out.
