So I put a motorbike up for sale for £4k a few weeks back and have been inundated with scammer emails, thought it would be interesting to show everyone how the scam works and follow one through, this particular chap was called Tolbert Green, tolbert089@gmail.com, I tried to have a little fun with him along the way...

I don't mind if the bike only has one wheel working and it's been dropped , if its still for sale I will pay all these charges to your friend Tolbert..... It sounds like a good deal by the way !! I think you just picked Tolbert up wrong!! TDV8 HSE....Gone but not forgotten ....class act

My suggestion would be escalation to an international incident. Create a email thread (easy to do much better than what the scammers are send me PM and I'll help set it up...lol) between you and the Scotland yard, have Scotland yard get all uppity about the FBI dictating policy in their Jurisdiction etc... make it look like they are going to contact the FBI for real... |
