This is one of the reasons I do not use Facebook!

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-24628909

I can not see any reason why a normal human being would want to post or watch a person being beheaded Shocked

Free speech gone mad - what about families and the person who was filmed being killed Evil or Very Mad

I also fail to understand people who go on and tell everyone they are going away or having a great time on holiday but are shocked when they come home to find they have been burgled Rolling Eyes Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

A spokeswoman for Facebook declined to comment about its latest move. She had previously defended its decision to allow a video showing a woman being beheaded - believed to have been filmed in Mexico - to be shared despite the fact it bans images and videos showing a woman's "fully exposed breast".

Personally i think facebook and twitter are pointless waste of life - i dont and never will use, for the life of me i cant see why people (id Censored ots) do.

However, freedom of speech is important and however distasteful (and i think it is) i do agree with them, they shouldnt ban it - sometimes we have to allow people to do things we dont like, not because we support it, but because the right to do it is more important. We have lost too many freedoms in this country by fools trying to control people's rights to do things because they dont like it. Mike

A lot of my friends and family (including wife) are on it...but my opinion stands Whistle actually, a few of them are reducing their use of them for reasons of privacy, digital presence, point etc.

If i want to communicate with friends, email, phone, text or visiting works really well Thumbs Up Mike

It has it benefits for sharing photos and videos with family, you can set the privacy to friends only.

I never understand people putting they are on holiday.

Well not again, I watched part of a DVD that was banned about 25+ years ago, one which had gory accidents with breaking bones, ,and such like on, it was banned and as a kid you don't know any better or back down I front of the lad that got it, well after seeing a man been shot and his face cave in (no blood) and for some reason he didn't die, (I think it was news footage that should have been left on the cutting room floor) and then the shock realisation that he was still breathing Shocked it's a image that's stuck with me for evermore

very controversial ! life would go on without twitter and facebook (and instagram Smile) but they make life so much more "efficient". You obviously have a job/life where that type of interaction isn't necessary, but to label those of us that use these services as idiots is plain stupid !
Oh, by the way, this forum is also classified as "social media" and I'm scratching my head as to why you think this form of interaction with other people is different to the interaction provided by facebook and twitter ? Recently bought a 2007 RRS HSE TDV6 for a Pimp-My-Ride-Project.
DONE: Meduza front bumper, AB rear bumper, AB tailpipes, calipers repainted, rear upper tailgate upgrade, side steps, AB front grille, AB side vents, rear LED lights, clear side repeaters, integrated daytime running lights, LED headlights.
TO DO: color code sills and pillars.

^^^ Totally agree. Just because some people use it as a show off tool doesn't make it bad. I also don't agree with people advertising they are going on holiday or what they are eating, where and with whom and posting pointless pictures of something/someone with their latest gadget/car/house "subtly" visible in the background. I think the idea behind it was to get back in touch with people who you have lost contact with and to communicate/share efficiently within a closed group (especially across different timezones) and I think it is great for those things when used properly, which many people still do.

If some loser comes here and says things on this forum to indicate purely how wealthy or how well-connected (to Land Rover for instance) he might be, what would you say about the forum and everyone else that uses it for good reasons?

BTW I am not very active on FB so not "defending myself" here Thumbs Up

Where can I see this video? Brutality and worse happens everywhere. The fact that Bookface (which I would never use as I think its puerile) chooses to allow it is ....almost funny. It just shows what they will do and how much lack of any respect for decency they have. Gone - 2008 Stornoway Grey RRS 2.7 TDV6

I'll stick to email, it has all the same capabilities.

These 'social' sites are not very secure and there's a significant risk tat even so-called 'private' material can be hacked and the details are passed on.

You pays you're money and takes your choice - Ohh!! that's right its free; so now you know whose in control. Rolling with laughter
