2007 tdv6 timing belt guidance

Hello everyone
Finally after long wait bought ourself
2007 sport tdv6 97k
Just looking for advise on timing belt time /mileage
Also rough prices

For your year also replace the oil pump casing as the casting is prone to failure

Had many prices on replacing timing belt
From independent garage saying only need main belt at £235plus vat
Specialist landrover main and aux belts £378.65 plus vat
Landrover technicians quoting All belts inc crank case £543 inc
Main dealer 105k survive inc belts £782.42 inc
Please could you let me know your views or experience on what's best

Have to echo what Steve, above has already said.

2007-2009 MY's had issues with oil pumps breaking, causing the timing belt tensioner to fall off, causing terminal damage to the engine. It is well worth an extra few hundred quid to have the oil pump replaced at the same time, for extra piece of mind.

No point in only doing the front belt, though it seems a lot of independent "specialists" are only advising doing the front belt. If the rear belt fails, it causes no damage, but you have the hassle and inconvenience of the car breaking down/being recovered/waiting for the repair... No point in only doing half a job Thumbs Up

IMHO, get in touch with Flack. He knows what he is doing, and won't shaft you Thumbs Up

That's cheap. Down here the best price I had for service and belts was £712 at an Indy and the most was £1,200

agree with last posting prices.
all in front and rear belt service was anywhere between 800 and 1300 euro.
none of the dealers I questioned included the rear belt in the initial quote for the 105k service. all of them quoted it as additional.... 2 of them saying they never change them unless they fail.

anyways.. did it all myself after. Couple of hours and only a few hundred quid on genuine parts.

Hi, just booked car in at local landrover workshop for timing belt replacement
The have quoted me £399 inc vat fitted
They said they never fit oil pump hosing only front and rear belt kits
So does the oil pump really need doing

On your year of car its a big YES to change the Oil Pump casing.... read these posts it will give you nightmares..

Also LR does not acknowledge there is a problem with it thats why they are saying what they have said, I will not do a cam belt change on an 07 without changing the Oil pump casing..

Just picking up on the timing case question. I have a 2005 2.7V6. I am preparing to do the cambelts shortly, but is the housing ok on these earlier engines?

Check on your service book, you may well find that the rear belt was done under the HPFP recall, In Spain - 2018 F Pace - Frightened away from the Sports due to crank failures
Gone - A couple of RRS, A couple of Disco's. However thinking of another Sport.

Defect:
The front pump bearing on some aftermarket replacement High Pressure Fuel Pumps may fail due to lack of sufficient lubrication. This will cause failure of the shaft seal, which will cause a fuel leak and if not rectified, could cause a vehicle fire.

Action:
Recall affected vehicles and replace fuel pump with the latest specification pump.

Launch Date:
03 December 2010 In Spain - 2018 F Pace - Frightened away from the Sports due to crank failures
Gone - A couple of RRS, A couple of Disco's. However thinking of another Sport.

2005 models (and 2006) oil pumps are fine.

HPFP recall was only on EU4 engines Thumbs Up
