It is a notch on the chassis that the cams rotate on so that the adjustment can be made some have been found to have been ground off.

i've know a few people to weld a spot on in it's place which has worked OK. Bodsys Brake Bible

As Bodsy says get something welded on in its place as long as its able to turn the against the eccentric washers you should be fine.

This is a view of the front drivers side lower front bolt you can see the washer hits the notch so when you turn the bolt it moves it off center.

Cheers Flack. Are the rears the same? Mine has got them rivits so not sure what alignment place is on about now. Also on the front lower wishbones should the nut be front or rear?

All the ones I have changed have the nuts at the front just like my picture..
