Engine Starting/Running Problems

Hi all just putting it out there have been having some problems with our 2008 TDV6 RRS.
It has problems starting in the morning(sounds like its running on only 3 cylinders). We have had the battery,
Altenator, EGR's and a chip on the ECU replaced(not sure which one) with the same result, difficult starting
mostly in the morning after sitting all night in the garage, but has also happened after being used for half
the day. It has also happened while my wife was driving down our street. We are getting slightly frustrated that
no one can definitively tell us what the problem is.
Has anyone heard of this or had this themselves? Any feedback is appreciated.

TIM

The glow plug system that preheats before a cold start is split between left and right cylinder bank. If a connector is disconnected then only 3 cylinders receive power to preheat the combustion chamber. Just a thought as you said it sounds like it starts on only 3 cylinders! I am presuming that it is a diesel as its not in your car profile.

The first line of the OP does say it is a TDV6.

I doubt it is the glow plugs - my TDV6 will start first turn on -5c mornings without the glowplugs having time to heat up. But I do agree that it is something to be checked.

Hi Gary,
Re type of vehicle I usually hover the mouse over the car icon and it flashes up the detail.
Yours doesn't have it either but hover over the car icon on mine and you will see what I mean.
Agree I could have looked harder!
