The glow plug system that preheats before a cold start is split between left and right cylinder bank. If a connector is disconnected then only 3 cylinders receive power to preheat the combustion chamber. Just a thought as you said it sounds like it starts on only 3 cylinders! I am presuming that it is a diesel as its not in your car profile.

The first line of the OP does say it is a TDV6. I doubt it is the glow plugs - my TDV6 will start first turn on -5c mornings without the glowplugs having time to heat up. But I do agree that it is something to be checked. Garry 07MY RRS TDV6 Arctic Frost Aspen Interior |

Thanks for the reply's, the mechanic has said that he has checked the glow plugs and associated wiring with no problems there. Taking it back on Wednesday so ill keep you posted to what he finds, if anything.
