Lol tbh I'm not too bothered cos I think they are all hype was just wondering really ? I'm doing an oil change so thought I'd ask views. Wat brand oil do people recommend ? It says it needs 5w30 is castrol magnetec any good ? |

I was sucked in by Slick 50 when I was a young(er) pup. Put it in a 200TDi Discovery, and it gained an extra 3mpg, easier starting etc

I agree with Disco_Mikey Remember some items need a set level of friction, cam followers for one rely on friction in order to rotate, best bet just use the specified oil and filter and change it more often. |

If you look in the manual there is Ford specification for engine oil (probably WSS M2C913-B' ) but note since the manual was published higher specification oils have become available so last letter on some is 'C'. I've decided against the use of ANY additives, just going to change filter and oil and use castrol magnetec 5w30 ! Was just wanting to do something to ease the starting on cold mornings ? |
