Unfortunately the tax approach (and ive had this) is actually the correct legal way to do it...to do it the other way is legal, if you dont use the car until the date its taxed from...i know lots do it - but that doenst make it legal. I agree its annoying, ive been there!

As for the interior clips - you dont need to remove anything internally to fit the tow electrics.

The scratches are not acceptable - but can be fixed, but that would do my head in! Maybe fixed and supaguard FOC?

Finally the colour - can you live with it - Darker i would say is better...but its personal..,maybe a free or 50% off a 3 year service plan? Mike

I wouldn't have taken the new FFRR if it was me. Although a lovely car to have while they hopefully sort things out, with the greatest respect, stepping back into an outgoing model RRS from a new FFRR isn't going to make you feel great, even if it's perfect Confused

As Nick says, what reasons did they offer for the errors/damage?

For the sheer hassle, I'd want a free service plan, make sure you get what you deserve Muddy, you don't spend over £50k to get messed about like this Wink Thumbs Up ON THE WAY: BMW F21 M140i

I know it's easy for all of us on here to give you our two-penneth, but I really don't see why you should wait to see what they can do. You have been sold a car you didn't order. Sit down with the dealer principal and thrash it out to your satisfaction. Anything other than 100% happy will spoil the experience for a very long time. FF 4.4 V8 Soooo looking forward to this bad boy

They are trying to say I had the chance to view the car even though it was locked and had plastic over the seats Confused

I have tried to reject vehicle but they say I have to give them the opportunity to put things right. I am awaiting written confirmation that if I do this and I am still not happy they will accept my rejection Neutral

I feel at the moment this is my only way forward without employing a solicitor Sad

The new vogue is lovely to drive but the sport still corners better and the extra cost does not seem worth it Shocked Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

Nick - the headphones transmitter on the roof still had the blue plastic cover on so maybe I should have PDI'd it too Rolling Eyes Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

It sounds like they didnt PDI it...which means a few things wont have been done or checked.

Probably a case of getting it in...thinking they need to fit the tow electrics then PDI and just quickly doing the tow electrics and forgetting everything else!

(probably not even checking it was the right car Rolling with laughter Exclamation ) Mike

Yesterday I was asked to sign the credit agreement again because the vin had been mistyped Confused

Problem is I did not have my copy to hand, did not get a new copy and now haven't got my car to check it Thud

Still waiting for considerable balance refund from p/x after deposit, cherished transfer and old tax disc with 11 months left to claim back Shocked

This has not been a good experience and I am getting totally stressed - again Big Cry Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

That sounds more and more like they ordered or have assigned the wrong car to you.

They probably registered and taxed it, fitted the electrics THEN realised (or worse didnt) hence the plastic (which should be removed at PDI) and some other things potentially being not done.

At somepoint the paperwork probably identified the missmatch (hence the change in vin) but they still probably didnt check the actual car, it sounds Shocked Exclamation

It sounds more likely to be a sales person mistake, probably causing a rush for some reason and putting pressure on the workshop and a general failure to follow process...all the checks and balances sound like they have failed in real life and left you with at best the wrong car, at worse an unchecked, damaged incorrect car Mike

Muddy, you mentioned in a previous PM, that they had already ordered the car before you'd even given them the 100% go ahead Question . Makes me wonder if this was the start of the problems........and maybe you have been assigned a car they 'thought' you wanted, not the car you 'actually' wanted Confused Whistle Neutral ON THE WAY: BMW F21 M140i

what do LRCS have to say? I assume they would say its between you and the dealer

I still cant see how they can put things right without swapping the car to the actual one you ordered

Is there any way of checking the incorrect vin on topix, doesn't it say what it was the build was including the seats etc

This might be the proof you need to get to the truth about what happened
