The drop plate is also expensive for what it is Mike

True. I presume that also has some form of additional subframe too? If not, it might allow some aftermarket versions at a reasonable price. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

I assume its the standard 3.5" receiver with drop plate I can't see a brace (which is good) so I again assume you buy the mount and drop plate as an assembly Mike

Just had an email from my dealer saying Tow Bar will now be factory fit and should be similar price to the Range Rover.... 2017 MY - Dynamic, same again!

2016 MY - Dynamic - same spec again all round, engine a noticeable improvement

2015 HSE Dynamic - same spec as the last plus Meridian, Full Size Spare & InControl Apps

HSE Dynamic 2014:
Ebony / Lunar, Heated Mirrors, Privacy Glass, Heated Steering Wheel, Red Callipers, Interior Mood Lighting, Ebony Headlining, Panoramic Roof, Electric Towbar, Centre Console Fridge.

Previously: 2011 RRS, Aston Martin V8 Vantage, Audi S5 Cab, RRS, Audi S4 Cab.

He has just fully confirmed and added it for £810 to my order...

Can anyone recommend / give advice about a 3 bike rack - I've never had one before so want something that;

a) stays away from the car
b) keeps the bikes apart
c) that will definitely fit onto the deployable tow bar

Looked at the Thule 923 - any good? Dealer advised there's are Thule (but twice the price)... 2017 MY - Dynamic, same again!

Regarding Thule 923 - I have the earlier version of the rack.

Yes it will fit on any towbar, it clamps to the tow ball itself.

Will it keep the bikes apart ? Depends on the bikes. If you have a nice modern MTB with a Fox 36 fork and nice wide rear hub then no, they will touch if three bikes are on the rack. My solution is to cut up an old bike tyres and squeeze these in between any touching parts. If your bikes are just hybrid run arounds they should be fine.

BUT I have yet to find a bike rack that will carry three burly bikes without touching

Hope that helps

Thanks Jon,

A couple of adults MTB's and a toddlers bike.. I'm more worried about damaging the car, is this one the best that Thule do? (I admit I haven't spent more than 5 mins researching as only just found out).. 2017 MY - Dynamic, same again!

Your car will be fine. I will only carry my bikes on a tow bar mounted solutions now.

If they are on the roof you get dirt over your car - and fall off (only once -ooops)
if they are on a strap on bike rack you scratch the paint !! (and nearly fall off - ooops)

So far I used my Thule fully loaded and way into three figures driving to the Alps and no issues whatsoever (RS4 not RRS).

It also tips forward so you can get stuff out with bikes on the back (when you have packed your passport in your luggage, in the boot - Ooops !)

That's good news at least and a sign that LR might be listening to their customers.

One wonders how much it will cost as a retro fit item when the new RRS hits the second hand market. If it's still £2k at that point then it will make it a good option to tick when buying new - anyone wanting the tow bar will look to pay a little more for a vehicle with it already fitted. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
