No one is blindly doing anything, in fact no one is doing all.
48 hours on and they can't find what the noise is although they can hear it. It is thought the noise is flywheel/torque converter or the bolts fixing them but the tech is "too busy" finishing off another job to fully investigate. Toy, pram and the cover all went out the window, and service dept got full on blast of five months worth of anger. LR now involved as they feel it hasn't had the attention it deserves. 2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀

As things stand, they have 24 hrs to diagnose and order what they need to fix it. If its not back with me Friday night, I told them I want a cheque to replace the vehicle. Have a new Disco in interim and really liking it far quicker than sport I had for weekend and hoot to drive 2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀

This is the real problem - garages take on work with no idea how long it will take and then spend inordinate amounts of effort making up excuses to following customers as to why their vehicle hasn't been dealt with.

-poor service seems to be the LR way these days...

Now, imagine spending £70k on your next RRS and getting the same treatment! 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

My boot was filled with oily bits, and soaked the dog bed. Only load liner saved the boot carpet. Next visit revealed my painted front grill in boot with a load of crap on top of it like wing liners and lights. And too cap it all, the front bumper hit and then so badly repaired its visible from 200 yards away. Anomalies with the bill are a constant too. But as you say, it's the delays and the excuses that are employed to justify the delays that really get my goat and it doesn't matter how effectual the service manager is, the monkeys reveal the true quality.

Breaking news in the saga is........
They have looked at it and given the EGR valves the all clear, say they have found some heat shields not aligned and a cotton reel mounting on a fuel line is broken. Must be about the only bit that wasn't renewed
So parts ordered over night and the promise for car back for bank holiday weekend still holds. Where's the fingers crossed piccy thingy?

Well I wasn't wrong.
Heat shields, mountings and various other bits were changed and the noise is still there. So it's L200 for the weekend as the loan Disco hasn't got tow electrics
Tuesday morning will be D-day in the simple household, with a very strong possibility that I will not be the owner of a Cairns Blue Sport shortly after my phone conversation with LR and the dealer.
They have had the car since early doors Tuesday and still can't diagnose what is causing it. And to be brutal, have no interest any longer.  2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀

Well they have done their tests, and still not got any conclusive thoughts. Mine? Yea the small end is rattling, and the engine is scrap and guess what, there are no engines available.  2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀

2014 Facelift Discovery

I really do feel for you - as I'm sure, do all the other forum members.

While it's unlucky to have such a catastrophic failure the dread-full aftercare means, in my opinion, it has now become absolutely and totally unacceptable.

If this thread doesn't put pay to any ones thoughts of running a RRS the I'm not sure what would. We all accept and recognise these cars are complex bits of kit but when JLR and its dealers can't seem to get the car back on the road in working order and within a reasonable timescale it rather puts to nail in the coffin, I'd have thought, for any prospective customer.

JLR should hope this sorry saga never hits the media.
