Squeaking dash

Hi, i'm desperately after some help. Recently purchased a second hand RRS and everything is perfect....apart from a really irritating squeak/creak from the dashboard about 6 inches to the left of the binnacle. Has anybody had a similar problem and managed to fix it?

Alternatively, does anybody know a decent indie near Worcester that might be a safe bet to help???

Any help gratefully received.....its driving me mad!!! Newbie

That's great thanks.....i'll look them up and see if they'll come for a ride and witness the noise. It's doing my head in; the car is amazing but the constant creak on anyhting but perfectly flat roads is reeally spoiling the experience! Newbie

Thanks Bobby. Doesn't sound like it's an easy one to fix! I presume fitting the squeaks and rattles kit is a dash out job? Has anybody ever posted a guide to removing and replacing the dash or top cover? Newbie

Basically the kit consists of various antifrictions gels for the different type of plastics used in the vehicle. There is also lubricant, rubber seal coating and light grease for mechanical components. Included are foam and PTFE tapes.
Instructions should be included too.

It is not necessary to remove the whole dash, just the parts emitting the irritating noise. Look in my gallery - lots of info on removing differents parts of the dash, otherwise just let the forum know which exact part you need help with and I am sure someone here will be able to help.

Dashboard Creak/Squeak

Hi All, I know this thread is getting on a little but I too had the same problem. Tried tape around the fixings of the speaker/Felt pads under the speaker cover etc etc. Finally........took off the speaker cover and drowned the joint between the upper and lower dash with Halfords 'dry PTFE' lubricant (£4.99). Seems to have worked a charm!!! No creak/rattle/squeak any more Very Happy . Hope this helps somebody else. BHP is how fast you hit the wall, torque is how much of the wall you take with you..........
