United Kingdom 2007 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Cairns Blue
Engine sizes

So the first cars are SDV6 and S/C only? They say that the Diesel V8 will be coming but with no time scale. So is it fair to say it will be 2015 before this is available?
So frustrating Big Cry 2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀
TDV8 Sport HSE...... Gone. Loved it but it didn't love me!!
Now rolling in MY10 Fullfat TDV8 Vogue. Slammed it to go round corners🙈
Cruising daily #56 mph in a Volvo V8. 😱
Lots of other toys in the cupboard...😜

As I read it, V8 petrol and v6 diesel at release. SDV8 will become available "at some point" 2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀

Is it the V8 rumble you are after? Because i'm sure the V6 will go quick enough having shed nearly 500kg off the weight of the new sport.

Think I'm going to need to drive an SDV6 then. It's the lack of drama V8 gives towing that I need. Just spoke to LR and SDV8 will be available from Januaryish.... Possibly with an extra cog in the box over the 8 speed. Prices are bit bloody scarey though Shocked 2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀

With the new sport being lighter, is that going to compromise its towing capability? Shocked

Doing the maths backwards, that makes new car 2.2 tonnes which will be fine as long as my caravan doesn't put any weight on. Car trailer will be marginal if towing a big car but at least it takes it all below 3.5 tonne flag. Been stopped several times and Vosa and police had issues with combined weights. Only up side is I have Class 1 licence so issue has dissolved. New towing rules are hard to keep up with and tacho laws even more complicated. 2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀

New sport retains the land rover 3.5t max towing capability

The SDv6 is more than good enough - its just as capable as the TDv8 now and more frugal...but in the new much lighter sport it will obviously have greater power to weight.

There are other towing things i would worry about first than the engine!! Mike

The new SDV8 FFRR is £6800 more than the the equivalent model with a SDV6. I would be surprised if there wasn't the same difference in the RRS.

Had it been available in the UK I would have gone for the S/C 3.0L petrol engine as I don't do a high mileage and would rather not have the hassle of a DPF

DPF isnt really an issue at all Thumbs Up

The price difference is a fair guide, which really brings us to a massive cost hike for these options Mike

Pleased to hear that as I has PDF issues with both my SDV6 XF's in 2008 and 2010. Perhaps the regeneration system has been improved.
