Isn't it electrically deployable on the new RRS.......not that that justifies £2k ON THE WAY: BMW F21 M140i

Hi BC, Yes it is electrically deployable but it is also electrically deployable on the FFRR and costs £810 so really cant see how they can justify £2088 Dave.

There has to be a point when customers will say enough is enough... And at the price of that tow bar would be the point where i would say stuff it and stick to the current model. I can think of better things to do with 2k and it wouldn't be paying for a tow bar. They really are going to price themselves out of the market. There is no way i would pay more for less because thats what you are now doing with the new sport. |

It's very likely just a case of plugging it into a connector in the existing loom. A dealer quoted £2400 for installing deployable steps in the new FFRR, which ties up with the £2160 RRS Exterior Styling configurator price |

Dealer fit electrics (13 Pin or black/white) are different to the entire electric tow bar, which i suspect is the £2k price

Is it a canbus system? If so then the electrics will be a massive nightmare for an after market company to copy although I'm in agreement with everyone else that the price is quite high 10 TDV8 Santorini |

That is bonkers!! I still think it should come pre wired from the factory to avoid the need to for dealers to have to do it and rip you off for the pleasure of it RRS TDV8 HST

They're charging £72 for a 3t tow rope, sorry - recovery strap, so they probably think £2k (plus fitting) is reasonable for the tow bar. I wonder how much they charge for recovery points to be fitted to the vehicle - I assume they're no longer a standard item either along with the transfer box...

It appears that the reason the tow bar might be so pricey is because it uses 2 new subframes as part of the install. See http://topix.landrover.jlrext.com/topix/co...tabs=false
