Still possible via the bank I believe. Inform the bank you paid over the phone in good faith, yet the job was below standard. With a valid case, they should be able to assist. As its a customer not present transaction the bank will always side in your favour.

The key is how you word it to your bank. You need them to see you didn't authorise the transaction.

Yup, I'd say you gave details over the phone so as to save you time when you picked them up, but given the shoddy job, you didn't authorise the them to take a payment and they have charged you anyway.

I know Sparky its very disappointing. I must also add that the M.D of the company is completely ignoring me he doesn't return any calls or emails which just adds to the frustration of the whole thing!
