After a little cohersion, the dealer is making a start on heart transplant on Wednesday which is better than end of month previously advised, and have asked to be present when the engine and turbos are removed to see what the order of failure was. Dealer has ordered two new cats as the right bank of exhaust is dripping oil from centre joint. 2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀

Stolen 2007 TDV8.

I am told by LR customer relations that all replaced parts are covered by 12 month parts and labour guarantee, but did question them on this as EU law now says that parts are covered by 24 month guarantee hence Audi and BMW recently changing terms and condition. Still going to buy an extended cover even though, the gear box and suspension are about the only parts that will be original
Don't think it will be back on the road for weekend, they have a days cleaning of oil coolant and other bits before they can refit and I want the service manager to drive the car for a few days before I collect it to make sure it's bolted back together right. The last time the body was off it deposited 30 litres of diesel on my brick paving the night I collected it.  2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀

Well work commenced yesterday lunchtime. Am sure Ady will be along shortly with a photo
The engine was ready to lift out when I went to have a look at lunchtime today.
Both turbos are foo barred, left is solid and won't even turn, the right one is something similar to cock in a gun boot. End float of 5 mm, and up down left and right play is controlled by the fins hitting the housing. There is masses of oil in both sides and centre exhaust box is full of oil.
Left turbo has done @ 30000 miles the right less than 20.
While the body is off, am replacing all the brakepipes which won't pass an MOT due to rust and pitting and also the alternator as new one can be fitted to new engine at no labour cost.
Predicted to be back on the road by early next week.
Have convinced dealer to get pipes and coolers professionally cleaned and bumper off to paint shop as some has hit it while in the compound.  2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀

Great idea that you are getting the rest of the work sorted that needs doing whilst the body is off.

^^^^^ I thought so especially when the two front to rear brake pipes are only 12 quid each. Alternator is precautionary but a pig to do in situ.  2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀
