Had the same problem after my son hit a pot hole in our other car. It looked like a hard boiled egg was sticking out of the sidewall of the tyre. The tyre kept loosing pressure and that's what alerted me - new tyre unfortunately. FF 4.4 V8 Soooo looking forward to this bad boy

A pothole could cause that sort of damage. One of the problems with low profile tyres. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

Great. So there's no telling how many times this is going to happen given the state of roads in my area.

They are. Ultimately it's not the vehicle that isn't handling the roads, it's the tyre. If you run a low profile tyre you increase the risk of it getting pinched as it deflects over an edge such as a pothole. The sidewall gets pinched between the rim and the edge of the hole and that causes a bulge if it's extreme enough. The Sport wasn't designed to run on 22 inch rims - indeed, LR gave the 255/50/19 as the off road option which gives nearly 30mm more sidewall than a 285/35/22 does. That means it can deflect more without pinching. It's a little unfair to blame the vehicle for your decision to run wheels/tyres it wasn't designed for don't you think? What tyre brand are you currently running? 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders 2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed |

Yes fair enough. I think for a moment I overlooked the fact that off road, you'd be driving with 19s, which would make breakfast out of pot holes it seems. Also worth pointing out 22 wasn't my choice but what the car came with. I do like the aesthetics but now, having read a few threads, think will downgrade to 20s with 45 general UHP.

Never heard of them. Sounds like a budget tyre on a premium vehicle - never a good thing in my opinion. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders 2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed |

My view has always been that tyres are the most critical thing on the car - i value my life, so would just buy the best brand available, in your case that offer 22...buy cheap pay twice? Mike
