From my perspective, I originally had ideas with regard to trading in the RRS for the new FFRR, but after parking next to one a few weeks ago, I passed on that idea, as I couldn't see the logic of lashing out another 60k for something which didn't attract a second glance in the supermarket car park! I bought some nice MA speakers instead. Then, my next idea was to buy the new RRS but if the current crop of photos is correct, it is going to be perceived a a jumped up Evoque rather than a sporty version of the original FFRR, even though the platform is Disco based, whereas perversley the new RRS platform is FFRR based.

I'm more relieved now after seeing the 'arrival' video - note that the date is wrong in the instrument binnacle.

Whilst the current sport and disco share the platform - the theory that its disco based isnt fully accurate. LR back in 2001-3 were going to have a couple of single platforms on which different body and equipment styles were to be added, the disco and rrs were the only ones to go down this route before the idea was scrapped. But i agree with what you say...if i do replace my 13MY - i would struggle to convince myself to get a jumped up evoque, especially without the passion for the current Model Mike 2014 Facelift Discovery |

Where's the logic in spending £60k on something because it turns heads in the supermarket carpark? If you're dropping that sort of money on anything then you do it because it turns your head, suits your tastes, makes your pulse race. what other people like! Looking at the possible RRS replacement, I'm thinking I'll wait for a suitable second hand new-shape FFRR in a couple of years rather than a second-hand new-shape RRS. The FFRR is fabulous - classy and understated (if understated is possible for any vehicle that big!). The new-look RRS - from what we've seen so far - is too toytown for my tastes. I can just about see the point of the Evoque but an Evoque Sport? No thanks. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders 2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed |

Front end looks ok, and will probbably grow on me, but, overall still too much RRE and too little FFRR...
