Shame you can't get yourself a job training dealer techs Bow down
Most have a degree in sucking their teeth and stopping every ten mins for a fag break then if it takes dealers 8 hours to remove a body??? Bet you don't scratch the bumpers, Censored up the heat shields and break the dip stick tube off the manifold either Laughing 2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀
TDV8 Sport HSE...... Gone. Loved it but it didn't love me!!
Now rolling in MY10 Fullfat TDV8 Vogue. Slammed it to go round corners🙈
Cruising daily #56 mph in a Volvo V8. 😱

England 2007 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Luxury Santorini Black

OMG Just gone through dilemma myself (over the last 6 months!) I had a 3.6 very briefly a few years ago until the arse fell out of the market, I was impressed with the grunt and sound of the v8 but did not own it long enough Shocked to get a grip with the running costs etc, but am told they can be heavy on tyres due to the amount of torque going down, but I a no expert.

So....I took the plunge, .I part exchanged my freelander XS for a 2.7 HSE, java black, Ivory, 22", two weeks ago, I was initially worried that I would have buyers remorse and want the v8 back immediately, however my daughter said to me " dad if you want a v8, get a sports car, if you want a range get a range" she was right, I have found the 2.7 very capable, not rapid that's true, but capable, I have also found that my driving style has changed somewhat in that seem to be just gliding around now..it will get upto 90 (so I'm told Whistle) and will sit quite comfortably on cruise all day long.

Getting around 28.5 mpg with mixed road driving which is around what I was getting from the freelander 2.2, so quite happy.

Very happy to be in the RRS club Thumbs Up

Same here. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

I know my local dealer quotes 20 hours to lift the body and replace front - rear brake pipes Shocked
That is a £2500 bill!

I can do them in under 4, without removing the body Whistle

DM - sounds like your dealer wants reporting to trading standards - this is like a builder charging £1000's to repair your roof when all he did was replace a couple of tiles Shocked Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

Say no more Laughing

The standard of workmanship I have seen over the last few years I wouldn't trust any dealer to remove and replace the body without damage or connecting everything correctly after - especially when you see how temperamental the RRS is Sad Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

2007 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Java Black

I've owned both...

My 2005 D3 had the 2.7 engine (mapped by BAS) and as much as it was way nicer than in standard form (pulled well up the gears even at 90 on the m-way Whistle ) it was still no match for my current TDV8 (also mapped by BAS) in shear throttle response and the ability to overtake with minimal effort/planning.

But saying that the 2.7 does chug along quite well (map a must)

If you like a bit of performance in your RRS, then you only really have 2 choices, and one needs to come with shares in Shell! so it has to be the TDV8 RRS gone

Indeed. Last time mine had major surgery to replace the rear dynamic anti-roll bar they managed to reconnect the steering column so that the steering wheel was at an angle when the wheels were straight ahead.

Little stuff that should be simple to check as they go along. Makes you wonder how much of the complicated stuff they get right if the simple stuff is beyond them... Big Cry 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

Which is odd, because the rear ARB is, funnily enough, at the rear of the car. The body does not have to come off for that. They would also have had no reason to have anything apart at the front of the car (unless there were additional works at the same time)

They reportedly took the body off to do the work. No idea why. As it's a LR dealer, who knows why they were doing it... Big Cry 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
