I have found the LR supplied wipers to be as good as any others and better than some. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

Try giving the windscreen a really thorough clean with Autoglym fast glass and then apply Rain X rain repellant. If the wipers still squeak or judder try twisting the flat metal part of the wiper arms a little to change the angle of attack by a small amount. This might require a bit of trial and error until it is just right. 2008 MY Java Black TDV8 HSE

Good advice, Paddi, my screen probably needs some TLC to help get the most out of the wipers. I think the guy who cleans my car is more of a splish splash splosh sort of a fella. But my ineptitude at tweaking / fettling / DYI is infamous in my household so I better leave that to someone else.

Fair enough. Note you are in London so traffic film on the windscreen will be worse than a rural car. Those aerodynamic after market wipers do look quite cool tho' Let us know what you think of them? 2008 MY Java Black TDV8 HSE

zee Heyner Hybrid wiper blades have worked out well and certainly have a nice swipe about them. Only issue is that they look abit ugly from the driver's seat because the clip structure is exposed - i.e. no spolier cover. I wonder if I was supposed to remove a part of the old wiper blades....
