Hi Guys, i know its sunday and its day of rest but HELP the RRS is poorly and I'm looking for a little knowledge on this one.
Basically car won't change gear into 2nd in normal auto mode, although it will if I shift the gear selector up or down, but I have noticed that this only happens when the sidelights are switched on.
Also when sidelights are switched on the brake lights are stuck on all the time and then car won't change gear.
If I turn off the sidelights then brake lights work as normal when the foot pedal is pressed.
It's early days but do you think it has Body Control Module Issues????
Surely I can't be the only sport owner to have or had this problem?

Replace the brake light bulbs. The filaments inside the bulb have a nasty habit of shorting together, and causing all sorts of issues.

Could also be a faulty brake pedal switch, and/or wiring to the switch. Both common issues

As Mickey says, check the rear bulbs and the brake light switch. Both common issues, but from your breakdown of symptoms, bulbs sound favourite. 2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀

Now rolling in MY10 Fullfat TDV8 Vogue. Slammed it to go round corners🙈

Hmmm sounds interesting guys, now that would be a nice simple fix.

Finally had chance to get the sport in the workshop this morning, and with a little knowledge from you guys she's fixed and back up to full speed.
Both brake/sidelight bulbs were replaced after both bulbs showed slight shadowing on the lenses., although it was the n/s/r
Bulb that had shorted to sidlight circuit.
Also noticed when brake was pressed that the front sidelights were illuminating too.
Anyway massive thanks again, so much of my Saturday time saved with a little help from you both
Just the air suspension issue to sort now and she'll be back to her prime.
