turbo lag

My RR when at a standstill at a roundabout or t junction, when i require to pull off quickly. there seems to be a what seems like 2 or 3 second before the performance kicks in, then it nearly goes on the back wheels how can get power instant.

Sounds very symptomatic of an EGR valve, or split turbo hose. A quick diagnostic session should highlight any issues Thumbs Up

2 or 3 seconds is a bit too long. Older 2.7 had a throttle delay which caught me out more than a few times especially from stand still, it was improved vastly when car was remapped. 2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀
TDV8 Sport HSE...... Gone. Loved it but it didn't love me!!
Now rolling in MY10 Fullfat TDV8 Vogue. Slammed it to go round corners🙈
Cruising daily #56 mph in a Volvo V8. 😱
Lots of other toys in the cupboard...😜

Areet simples,

I might be exagerating when i say 2 to 3 seconds but it feels like it. Its a 2008, i think it might be me expecting to much from the RR. But i will definately take it to my local RR specialist and see what they say.

Cheers

Again

My 2007 V6 was like that.

Coming up to a roundabout or junction it seemed to decide it was going to stop. Suddenly you see a gap in the traffic and demand some power and there was a heartstopping moment whilst the engine and transmission got their act together.

I am afraid I just got to live with it although I understand re-maps can improve it, but once the turbo is winding down it takes a second or two to wind up again. 2016 RRS 4.4 TDV8 Autobiography Dynamic in Montalcino Red and Stealth Kit

Peter, just move the gear selector into command shift on approach to a junction or roundabout then change gear with that for a while and the gearbox will learn your style of driving and it will adjust accordingly, but i would recommend getting in touch with pete at http://bellautoservices.co.uk/bas-remap-interface/ and getting one of these. Thumbs Up

It's not helped by the gearbox using 2nd gear to pull away by default. You can select 1st gear using the lever in CS mode. This helps a bit.

[I see Ady has made the same suggestion at the same time!] 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed
