Hi all

Was driving home this evening when the fuel light came on. Pulled in and filled to the brim (2.7v6) got back in switched on and the check engine came on and has stayed on (not flashing).

Anyone any ideas

You need to read the fault codes to know. Could be eleventy seven things. My guess is EGR valve as it sticks when hot but don't take that as gospel. 2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀
TDV8 Sport HSE...... Gone. Loved it but it didn't love me!!
Now rolling in MY10 Fullfat TDV8 Vogue. Slammed it to go round corners🙈
Cruising daily #56 mph in a Volvo V8. 😱
Lots of other toys in the cupboard...😜

Thanks mate I'll leave it over nite and see what it dose when cold  S, grey, all black int, s,steps, window tints, fridge, ff tv x 3.

Had exactly the same 2 weeks ago, diagnosed by stealer as EGR valve faulty, dropped off this evening for replacement tomorrow, £370 to you sir

My understanding is that anything that affects emissions will throw up the "engine light". 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

There are two systems, the management light and the DIS which shows faults on the LCD display. There is not consistency to how these work. You can get a DIS fault which does or doesn't record in fault log. Same with light. When mine self distructed there was no light but a DIS message. When log was checked, one error for boost deviation was logged but was historical not current. So the system is not infallible. 2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀

What year is your RRS?

Nope nothing just wondering weather letting it get low on fuel triggered it although the light came on a mile from the garage so wasn't on fumes  S, grey, all black int, s,steps, window tints, fridge, ff tv x 3.
