Landrover assistance through the AA

So yesterday I finally got round to calling out the AA to diagnose my faulty EGR so I could claim on my AA warranty, even though I already knew what the problem was I had to play dumb as you can only claim on the warranty if the AA diagnose the problem.

So I called them up, they asked for my reg, and said certainly sir there will be a landrover assistance patrol out to you within 30 min.

Now this was a pleasent surprise as with every other car I've owned, they have only ever sent the yellow van man but apparently LRA is part of the AA and where ever possible they will always send out a LRA patrol, this was the first time I've called them since having the sport and was quite chuffed that they are prepared to send out a more specialised service without trying to charge me more on my annual premium.

Well done AA Thumbs Up

And with regards to the EGR, the LRA chap blanked it with a penny and gave me a report that will enable me to claim £500 to the cost of a replacement and also cleared an airbag light that had popped up a couple of days ago.

All in all, it was well worth him coming out Very Happy

I called LRA out last year and they offered me AA van within an hour or Lr technician next day - I waited for the technician Laughing

Apparently the Lr technicians work weekdays/normal hours and aa vans cover off peak or if technicians busy - AA have the contract for 3 years then must bid again I think Thumbs Up Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

Mine was a sunday afternoon call out Muddy, and he said as long as someone is avaiable they will always send out LRA but they have to prioritise callouts through Landrover for owners of new cars.

United Kingdom 2007 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Java Black

I've got LRA as part of the LR warranty and called them out last week with a battery problem... i.e i had the doors opened and closed all day on site in the cold sapped my juice. I have to say they were quick and very efficient. Great attention to detail not only getting the car started but they double checked all the related parts to make sure the car wouldn't fault on me again. Im seriously looking into extending this again as v impressed! Thumbs Up 2007 Black on Black colour coded TDV8

Better than the RAC then. Bloke did try his best when mine fell over and to his credit in 5" of snow and -5 c. But the bloke hadn't a clue so used his "phone a friend" option then eventually phone a dealer tech option and finally after being stranded for four hours on side of M4 with no heat, he finally used "phone a recovery truck" option. When the computer can't tell them what's wrong, they ain't got a bloody clue with these cars. 2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀
TDV8 Sport HSE...... Gone. Loved it but it didn't love me!!

Lra is contracted out - mondial ran it before aa Confused

The disco technicians work for aa but only they carry computers to do diagnostics needed so if you get an aa van he may not be able to sort it Rolling Eyes Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

The guy who used to come out to my home was a technician who left dealership I bought car from. He arrived in brand new disco so assumed he worked for LR as it was them I phoned. His last visit was day after car came back from a service and spilled its guts all over the drive. Apparently a bad batch of fuel filters that split under pressure. If the rescue driver knew about them, you'd think the dealer would. He changed the filter and spent hours with fairy liquid and my hose cleaning up Bow down 2x TDV6. SE and HSE.
