My 22" Stormers arrived yesterday and wrapped up in the excitement I decided to fit them straight to the car in the pouring rain which happened to get even harder just as I had the last wheel to do, the rear left! So placing the trolley jack under the chassis at the jacking point I preceded to jack her up until suddenly a slip and a bang! Seems I'd not got the jack under the chassis enough and the bang was the jack cracking into the box that covers the suspension compressor. I now have a working but noisy compressor and a small handful of broken box!

You've almost certainly cracked the compressor mount. You may be able to pick one up second hand from a breakers, otherwise istr they're about £90ish

Ditto, mine was damaged from the previous owner but decided to change the compressor as well as the unit would click away until fully charged. Cost me £450 TDV8 HSE, Remap (+45 BHP + 100 Nm), Taylored sport exhaust system by Pipe Werx

Sherlock, did you do the work yourself or was that garage price? If DIY was it an easy job? 2007 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE- Cairns Blue with 22" Stormers |

Am sure you can. Provided you have tools and can lift your car you should be ok. TDV8 HSE, Remap (+45 BHP + 100 Nm), Taylored sport exhaust system by Pipe Werx

I needed to change the compressor on my D3. Depending on your vehicles age, it might be worth making sure that you have new "fixing clips" available. I think there are three that slot into the chassis that the mounting bracket bolts into. Mine were all corroded and fell to pieces. They would cost peanuts but it will stop you in your tracks if you need to replace them due to corrosion.
