Water in fuel

My RRS 57reg says water in fuel, had to the garage and had the fuel filter changed and the water sensor changed as well but still says water in fuel.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks Liam

Check the obvious first - did the garage remember to reconnect the water sensor? Not sure if this would give you a false reading but it is easy enough to check with a visual inspection.
Is it possible you took on some contaminated fuel? Did you fill up somewhere other than your usual place?
Has been known for fuel stations to have water in their tanks. To be on the safe side perhaps you should have the fuel in your tank tested or drained. Might be cheaper than having the engine trashed if there really is water in there? 2008 MY Java Black TDV8 HSE

The water in fuel sensor is actually part of the filter housing.

If it has already had a sensor and filter replaced, it will need a new housing

Thanks for all the answers.

It's typical that it's been on for weeks so I rang land rover yesterday and they said it sounds like a snapped wire, so had it booked in for 11 march.

Then gets in car this morning and its gone off!!!

Thanks Liam

Mine came on during the floods.... sensor is prone to shorting/earthing in it's low position.

Leve it a while... mine went off (like Bradders) and hasn't come back on RRS gone
