Verbier is also pretty good. Think about two hours from airport. I alway stay in Vevvey which is only 45 mins by train. Well my sister has a chateau there so no need for hotel. MY11 Autobiography supercharged. Santorini Black. Monaco interior. Rear screens. Privacy.

I always used to enjoy Avoriaz, it's part of the Ports Du Soleil ski area, which is massive!

If your wanting snow and its a bit thin on the ground when your going then, I would head Morzine/Avoriaz (avoriaz is a concrete town on the side of a mountain and you ski from your door)

I grew up in saas fee so can definitely recommend that one, few very good bars for après, but you need to be a capable intermediate to enjoy the best terrain. Plus it's not as expensive as you think and the town is perfect....one of my fav places.
