I had the same multiple system warnings on my previous TDV8, which after numerous visits to the local dealer, were not resolved. Ended up changing the car with good level of support from the dealer. That vehicle had an engine failure before I bought it, two turbo fails and ongoing warnings and episodes of going into limp home mode. I thought it might have been down to the body being taken off multiple times to fix the engine, which always seemed a really bad design flaw to me. But ultimately I've no idea why that particular vehicle was so bad but it was nearly my last LR, although touch wood, the current one is slowly restoring my faith! -------------------------------------------------------- RRS TDV8 Black/Black (Gone) RRS TDV8 Stornaway (Gone) RR Vogue TDV8 (Gone) RRS 4.4V8 (Gone) Defender 110 300tdi (Stolen, much missed) RR Vogue V8 P38 (Gone) LR 90 TD (Gone) |

Bit worried now as I've just dropped my car off at Colliers Erdington to fix my tailgate, which has stopped working (even after a software update).

You can take the engine out without removing the body...some say its easier to do it with the body on Mike

I beg to differ...i know a few people with more expensive cars than ours with engines out. Anyway there are three schools of thought when it comes to what you can/cant do in situ and then how you do it. Land Rovers Way, Text book arse way and the practical way. Mike 2014 Facelift Discovery |

Thanks BC, it's more bloody disappointing than anything else!, it seems the more you try to emphasise to LR & the dealer the more they back away Owner of MY13 RRS Red Edition, Santorini Black, Ebony with Lunar, Privacy Glass & Exterior Design Pack |

Cheney makes a good point, when you are busy it is a real pain in the a to be tramping back and forth to dealers etc. When I was having issues last year with my previous vehicle, I wasted far too much time f ing about.

The 'rule-of-thumb' for rejecting a duff car is about 6 months after that it becomes harder but not impossible.

Do they take mileage into account?, mines 4/5 months old & I've nearly done 15k The only thing LR half heartedly attempted to do was to see if the dealer were prepared to change the vehicle for a like for like, of course the dealer weren't interested in the slightest!, LR don't appear to be taking responsibility & very much passing it off as an issue between me & the purchasing dealer! It is an issue between you and the dealer. You bought the vehicle from them, not LR. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

I think thats where the problem lies, its for you to sort out with your dealer, (although it sounds like you are not dealing with your supplyng dealer here, just your local dealer) Hence why there isn't much help in your favour, but then its down to your dealer to sort it out with L/R and because L/R are bigger than any dealer and see it as L/R are doing dealers a favour by allowing them to sell there products, they seem to wash there hands with customers complaints and leave it for the dealers to take all the 5hit. |
