How do you remove the compressor inlet and exhaust pipes?

I been following the link to service the suspension compressor but I can't remove the inlet and exhaust pipes. Not the ones with the blue and red clips it has brass inserts on the end. It says to cut the pipes but if I do that I won't be able to put them back on.
Anybody removed, serviced and refitted the same compressor that could help?
Thanks in advance Thumbs Up

I think someone said that the connectors on the old compressors weren't push-fit and the only solution was to cut pipes.

I've ended up cutting mine after trying far too long to get them off otherwise, getting some push-fit connectors and lengths of plastic pipe of right dimension (2 or 3 different sizes needed irrc) from a hydraulics place and all good.

From memory (no guarantee whatsoever), I got one 4mm and one and 6mm straight (compressor side towards the car) and an elbow in 8mm (rear of the compressor), plus short lengths of 4, 6 and 8mm pipe.

To be on the safe side, I took the compressor and cut pipes to the shop so they could measure up for sure.

Yea it worked thanks.
Ill get some ordered up.

I just want to service the compressor to see it this venting decreasing from gallery error goes.
I've fitted new sensors checked the wires so this must be the only thing it can be.

I had the venting from gallery error on mine, a new compressor sorted it. Some have cleaned or replaced the drier, although I am not sure you can get it separately any more. Taken my drier apart and would never have managed to put it back together Laughing

You can still get the drier unit, it's about £70 from LR.

You can take the top off it and refill with fresh silica gel as well. Just measure same amount back in as came out (or thereabouts) You can also redry in the oven if it's not too powdery.

I have some silica gel left from a batch I bought if anyone needs some. £5.50 posted Thumbs Up
It's enough to replace the gel that you remove if you take the top off the drier.

Don't forget Mitch that there is a filter behind the left hand boot panel that is the air filter for the compressor and occasionally, that can also get blocked by dust, although not very common, it's something to check out as well. Bodsys Brake Bible

Well today was the day. I removed and stripped the compressor. The gel balls were white so put them in the oven till they were blue again. Rebuilt it, cleared the fault codes and it worked fine with no error
Till I drove home, half way home. Ding!!!
Fault code it tomorrow and see what it's saying now. Mad

Have you changed the relay to the compressor (in engine bay) ? It usually gets changed along with the compressor. It's a cheap enough replacement to try.

Besides the drier, there could be some clogging in other places/filters that is stopping air releasing too.

Well done for drying the dryer Bow down
