Thread revival.

I'm after a remap for my 06 tdv6. There are some rather expensive options out there. What's the difference between the BAS solution vs the Bluefin.

I've also been offered a remap from Motorsport developments for 359. Which is cheaper than the pair if the, however I would not get my own interface.

IMHO you won't get better. These are the people (BAS & BBS) that produce the maps and the hardware to program it and have quite some experience. They are not a reseller they are the people that spend hours cracking the hardware, and programming and testing the software.

If you want the highest torque and bhp available they will oblige you but what you will end up with is pub bragging rights and a vehicle that drives like a pig. What they normally suggest is a moderate gain that improves the drivability throughout the range. They will also tailor a tuned map to your own requirements using your engine data. This can be done in person or via e-mail rather than a generic map or worse still a plug in solution that just alters the information to the ECU.

They will make you and your RRS happy...!

Just my humble opinion, others may have different views...

BAS all the way pete has done 3 of my vehicles and all gave no problems, he's very helpful and will give you the time of day and will answer and questions you have after your purchase, unlike some other tuners out there who just take your money and run.

Our TDV8 now drives like it should do and is as different as night and day, plus with the box you get the option to put is back to standard when you take it to the stealer, just my own opinion for what its worth Rolling with laughter Discovery TD5 commercial (gone)

another +1 for BAS

Bonus's to having pete's interface:

It's also a fault code reader/clearer
The interface is yours, so if you change you car to another LR, there will most probably be a map available for that too...without the aditional fee of a new interface. Alternatively you are always able to unload the map and re-sell the interface on...re-couping some of your outlay... with Pete's permission obviously. Wink RRS gone

United Kingdom 2005 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Arctic Frost

I had my 2005 TDV6 HSE remapped at 88K through James French in Standlake, Oxfordshire. They do the remap and you can then try it out for a few hours and if you don't like it then they just reverse it and you owe them nothing.

I kept mine as it is way, way better IMHO and pulls better mid range.

I'm on 107K now with no problems MOT 2012.

Paid just under £500 so £499 from BAS (whom I've never used) seems OK to me.

Happy driving New Year.. 2005 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE in Artic Frost. 20" 2010 HST Alloys, sidesteps, Hawke tips, plus minor bits and bobs along with a remap. Four spike spiders ready for the Alps again now tucked up in their garage boxes...

We have done many 3.0L remaps but they are not at this time on the BAS interface as we need the ecu on the bench here for programming.
