Hi RRSCS, I've had the uneven idle running problem on my D3 TDV6 since it was new ( 7 yrs old now),and I remember trying another new one at the dealership way back then, and that did the same . It only does it during cold weather and only when it has been running for say 8-10 minutes from a cold start, goes away when fully warmed up. When I did an oil and filter change recently, I also replaced the oil temp sensor which is screwed into the side of the sump, as I had read of others with this problem, and some have found this cured it. I think it has reduced the fluctuation in revs somewhat, but still not perfect . The coolant temp sensor I believe also works in conjunction with this sensor,so that might also be something worth trying. I definately think it is something to do with the fuelling system receiving duff information at that point in the warm up period. RRS TDV8 Buck Blue (no, not now in my dreams). ..........D3 TDclankety clankV6 ............BMW 318i |

Yes, let us know how you get on, (the oil temp sensor was just under £30 here in UK). RRS TDV8 Buck Blue (no, not now in my dreams). ..........D3 TDclankety clankV6 ............BMW 318i |

Normally have these issues after having the battery disconnected. First cambelt I replaced, I thought the timing was out, causing it to run a bit odd with the fluctuating engine revs. IT eventually sorted itself out though.
