Just remember a 4x4 goes but still is governed by the laws of physics when stopping Wink

Not a single flake of snow here, and only see one car with snow on its roof Sad

Snow here last Wednesday. Snow itself wasn't the issue (only about 4 inches deep) but the black ice underneath made for some amusing antics by other drivers.
The RRS on Conti's with low range and GGS mode (with DSC off Wink ) made light work of it though Cool
No sign of 'The Beast' yet though Shocked ON THE WAY: BMW F21 M140i

Same as BC had a couple inches of snow.. Had a chance to try out snow mode and it totally takes the skill out of driving in it! Although did find abs only kicks in for a seconds before locking the brakes and sliding outside snow mode,, my subaru abs always kicked in until car had stopped.. So be wary !

Cant wait for more.... Why?.. Because i can....

I'm hoping for snow but being in sunny Torquay I'm not holding my breath! Cool

I actually have a couple of pictures of me and 2 mates up north snowboarding last Thursday! Went up the A9 to aviemore, for them to cancel all snowsports for the day at the cairngorms, so headed across country to the lecht, where we got a good 3 hours in! After taking an hour to get past the queue trying to get up the access road! Wasn't an issue for the sport, even with my 20" wheels and summer tyres! As mentioned above, I dont think you require any real skills? I for one have no experience of off road driving or any of the settings available? I just choose a steady 40mph in standard mode! Hopefully there will be some more knowledgeable members along shortly to advise me how best to climb the hill this week! Finished off driving home through glenshee, if I get a minute I'll post a few pictures up later!!

As my Sport is in with the dealer and probably won't be back anytime this week, I have no doubt it'll snow heavily. And then melt away when I get the vehicle back. Big Cry 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Why have Dsc switched off?

I asked the instructor on the lr experience day and he said leave it on. 2009 3.6 TDV8 HSE Santorini Black

Just seemed to make lighter work with it off, than on. Road was like an ice rink and I think it just confused it.

LRE Day guy said the same to me, but I guess it's just a case of seeing whats best in the conditions. Thumbs Up ON THE WAY: BMW F21 M140i

Don't know if its my Tyres, Pirelli scorpion, but last year the sport was useless in anything but deep snow. I found could go up most slopes but couldn't stop. Not a nice feeling heading down a reasonably steep hill heading for an abandoned Fiesta. Lucky enough I got off the brakes and steered round it but gained too much speed for comfort. All the electrical gizmos just locked the wheels up. My L200 has off road Tyres and far better in slippery conditions although a bit back end happy. Is it worth investing in some winter Tyres or driving lessons be a wiser investment? Rolling with laughter 2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀
TDV8 Sport HSE...... Gone. Loved it but it didn't love me!!
Now rolling in MY10 Fullfat TDV8 Vogue. Slammed it to go round corners🙈
Cruising daily #56 mph in a Volvo V8. 😱
Lots of other toys in the cupboard...😜

Driving lessons!...poor technique it sounds.

If your Pirelli tyres aren't m&s then you may have been hampered...but then you mention brakes. Good off road driving requires little use of the brakes Mike
