Limp mode on my 2.7 sport need help

Hello everyone.

I picked up my 57 plate range rover sport 2.7 hse a week ago. I was travelling on the m40 southbound when it decided to have a transmission error displaying an F in the selection screen. it then decided to lower it self to the lowest setting and then lose all power or go in to a limp mode. It also during this displayed a message HDC error. I managed to get to the hard shoulder and turn it off and on again. It then did the same as I gained speed to join again on to the motorway and a further time after.

I was recovered and dropped off at home not impressed, the garage are collecting it but I wanted to know if anyone had the same issue

thanks

jamie

With all the differing failures it points to battery or alternator failure. Have had similar suspension issue in Germany of course, when car threw up suspension errors after sustained speeds of 100 plus but switching off and on reset system.
I know these cars don't take kindly to having engine washed and gearbox ecu is under battery tray so check for moisture round that area if engine bay has been cleaned prior to delivery. 2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀
TDV8 Sport HSE...... Gone. Loved it but it didn't love me!!
Now rolling in MY10 Fullfat TDV8 Vogue. Slammed it to go round corners🙈

A blocked fuel filter can give similar symptoms, especially on 07MY and later cars Thumbs Up

Thanks guys I will look at buying a diagnostic test, I am at home now waiting for the AA to collect the car and take it back to the garage. I have had it a week and none of the electrics are working correctly Sad plus they let me drive it away with no tax in the window.

disappointed with the dealer big time

My TDV8 is doing exactly the same thing, in terms of multiple fault warnings, limp mode and dropping to the bump stops. When I stop, shut down and re start it all returns to normal. I think it might be a battery as the heated seats and screen are slow to kick in but it is getting booked into local main agent as is under warranty.

I hope this is something simple that the service guys can sort out! --------------------------------------------------------

Hello everyone, yes they came back with a few errors but mainly a blocked fuel pump and fuel filters. they have replaced all and investigated the electrics. so anyone with the same faults should go get it checked out especially if it struggles to start or takes longer than normal.

I have had the car a week it was serviced a month ago, is there a page on here that tells you the service intervals and what should be done? my car has done 50k

thanks all I really appreciate any help Smile
