RRS HSE 2.7 or 3.6???

Hi Guys,

Been tempted for ages, thinking of outing the 911 and Rav for a 2006/7/8 RRS either V6 or V8.

Which one and why?? Obviously the fuel consumption is slightly better on the V6, when did the road tax go up 06?

What is a good spec/options over and above the HSE kit?

Are headrest monitors a LR factory option or a retro fit??

I'm feeling stornoway grey, black leather, privacy, nav.....

Appreciate your help guys..

2005 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Bonatti Grey

I have a grey 2.7 hse on a 55 plate. Personally I think it's the best colour, hence why I bought it, but I'm sure others will disagree. I also wanted the cream interior and I don't regret it, I think it's a great combo. Privacy glass a must for me, the car looks odd without it, don't know why, it just seems to suit it. Headrest monitors were a factory option I'm pretty sure, though I haven't got them. Bluetooth integration was an option taken on my HSE, check for that. Generally the HSE is well spec'd, but if you want more detail look at the 'Parkers' web site, lots of info there for free!! As for V6 or V8 I've only driven the V6 so can't really comment, though there are many on this forum who favour the V6. I'm getting about 27mpg at the moment, mixed driving. I find the V6 has plenty of power, and there's always the option of getting it re-mapped if you feel the need. Road tax is cheaper pre March 2006 (one of the reason I wanted a 55 plate not an 06). I think the exact date is something like the 26 March but you'd have to check. Again, road tax detaiils can be found on Parkers. Hope this helps... Thumbs Up

You won't get a V8 before march 2007. Believe mine was one of the first registered march. I know ordered it 2006. The v8 is the one to have, had two v6 and don't compare. Fuel consumption really isn't that different and early v8 came with most things as standard. I added sunroof, logic sound and rear screens to last v6 and v8
There are a few company's who do retro fit but you'll need DVD player as well, mine has it in boot.
Suggest you go somewhere and try both versions back to back then you'll be in no doubt. Getting rid of the Porsche isn't a problem, my stupid horse power 996 turbo wasn't a patch on comfort compared to RRS, I ended towing Porsche behind RR Censored Whistle Rolling with laughter 2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀
TDV8 Sport HSE...... Gone. Loved it but it didn't love me!!
Now rolling in MY10 Fullfat TDV8 Vogue. Slammed it to go round corners🙈
Cruising daily #56 mph in a Volvo V8. 😱
Lots of other toys in the cupboard...😜

If your used to a porsche mate 2.7 will be slower than a week in the jail.

As AWD says 10MY later the V6 is the sensible choice in my opinion

Some great responses, thanks. The Porsche is an old 964 G plate targa, fragile and lively in the wet, but great. I'll get along to drive both hopefully in the next week, I'm liking the V8 rumble but there seems to be more 2.7's around.

In for a penny, in for a pound..

Cheers! Very Happy

Fireflesh, these labs are fussy! He'll look comfy in a Grey one with privacy I think.. He already thinks he is king and wafts his head about in the old 911 with the Targa out! Laughing
