Hi all, I am new to the forum and what a great forum ive found it to be. Iam looking at buying my first range rover sport in the early stages of next year. Ive got a max of 26k to spend on one, but i will only be doing a max of 7000 miles a year. I was wondering if people could advise me on what is best to buy i.e petrol or diesel. As i dont think i will benefit that much from a diesel because of my low mileage each year. And you seem to be able to buy a lower mileage petrol for the money. Thanks Gray

Hi Gray, I agree with your logic and on a low / 7000 miles a year, having faced a similar question myself when I got my SC, personally I'd definitely say get the supercharged.

I'm not convinced buying an s/c because its cheaper is the way to go. Yes its cheaper now, but there's a good chance you'll suffer when it comes to resale as the market for people wanting large petrol engined cars is getting smaller and smaller.

But as it only takes a like minded person to come along, so you never know!

Personally I've gone for a diesel and I only do 6-8K per year, but I like the way diesels drive.

TBH you need to have a go in both the Sc and TDV8. £26K will get you very a tidy version of either.

No point in comparing the TDV6 with the SC or the TDV8 for that matter  FF 4.4 V8 Soooo looking forward to this bad boy
