Thinking outside the box and away from the sunroof theory, have you checked the drivers door rubber seal isn't split or crushed Question

Has any work been done on the door at all? Wondering if the plastic sheets that seals the inside might be letter water in behind the door card

Grasping at straws as my idea of car repairs starts with the dealer and ends with my pin number been entered Laughing

I had this issue with mine although definatly not as much water. I fixed it with this http://www.rrsport.co.uk/forum/topic20562....trim+water

You remove the a pillar trim and place a sticker over the lowest locating hole. The kit comes with new clips and does both sides. Worked for me. I think I have a spare kit as I bought 2. (thinking you need one for each side) if you want it give me a pm and I will stick it in the post for you.

Neutral I would put my other half in the car and put an hosepipe in various places around the bulkhead if no leak is found then work it up the side of the windscreen untill your other half sees it pouring in Shocked If it doesn't come in once you have covered the screen try either the sunroof and the door seals, just because you have had new ones its not impossible for them not to leak. The only other time ive head of such a wet carpet was on a FFRR when the A/C or heater matrix corroded and sprung a leak behind the dash causing the carpet to get wet. Good luck. Thumbs Up

From the questions i asked in earlier postings i was trring to figure out if the door membrane had been messed about with and not put back together correctly. If you've had a new window regulator, lock or wing mirror then it's likely that the membrane wasn't put back together properly.

The air con could be a possibility too...there's a pipe that lets the condensed water out of the matrix...the one that usually leaves a puddle under the car in summer. If this pipe is blocked or is not routed out of the cabin it can leave the floor wet. It's usually on the passenger side but if it's long enough i suppose it could be making the drivers side wet.

The windscreen may not have been sealed correctly.

The sunroof might still be the problem.

The rubber gaiter that covers wiring loom from door to cabin might be loose/cracked.

Could be the locating hole as Phil said.

The door seal could be the issue.

Is there some sort of rubber gaiter over the steering column? Could this be loose/missing?

The VWs get water coming in when drainage holes in the scuttle are blocked and water builds up then enters the car. I thought the RRS was better designed but then again my 20 year old golf hasn't got a wet carpet.

There must be drainage holes at the bottom of the door. See if these are blocked....it was another issue on the old VWs.

We'll get there Thumbs Up

I had exactly the same problem last year, soaking wet drivers floor mat, searched all over and couldn't find the source of the water. I dried it all out and touch wood it has never happened again!

The power of hope pleased yours is ok I find my self a bit more sceptical.
To be fair I have seen this on a couple of brand new cars but never asked any questions .
I do sub contract work for the local dealer the only problem is sometimes they are forth coming with info other times you might as well be asking for this weeks loto numbers
The trouble is I have checked everything people have suggested and more It just doesn't make sense I sort other people's cars everday yet my own makes me look and feel stupid

Hello mate,

Any luck?

A few people on the disco site have had a similar issue. Have a look at the threads below:
