Seen as we are on the subject of bulbs, does anyone know if you can get some brighter led signature bulbs for the headlights. Question If so what type are they and where from. Question

I have been considering doing this upgrade. But just not sure at this point. For those who have done it. How does it make an improvement?
In a car having bright light inside is not necessarily an advantage is it? For example Merc go the opposite and their ambient lighting is dimmed. I understand doing the mirror lights for better view but the general cabin lighting. How does it improve the ambience?

(Just playing devil's advocate, don't shoot me down!)

Don't forget they only work one way, its a 50/50 chance you put it in the right way around, if it doesn't work first time you put the bulb in, take it out turn it 180 deg then push it back in. Note when doing drivers door.... i took the bulb out then had several phone calls to attend to, when i came to put the LED bulb back in i couldn't get it to work at all Shocked no matter which way i put the bulb in or how many different bulbs i tried Confused So i put the original bulb back in and that didn't work either Banging Head Confused Confused So i put 2+2 together came up with 3....... again Laughing so i left the old bulb in got called to a meeting, shut the car door, had to reopen the car door and hay presto, the light was on Bow down changed the bulb again for a LED and it worked, did my sums again and 2+2 became 4 Very Happy then realised that the light timed out and goes off after a period of time whilst i was on the phone, so the moral of the story is....... when changing the drivers door bulb, do it before the bulb times out. Laughing Thumbs Up

No Ady, you're certainly not on your own. I tried at least 3 different bulbs last night for the same reason Embarassed Was making up all sort of justifications like bulbs not being up to the mark and having blown the fuse or something until the penny dropped Rolling with laughter

Update:

So, it seems that different MY's have different bulbs located around the car and that the 'owners manual' is next to no use in this regard. Rolling Eyes

I changed a few more of mine and thought I'd detail what you need for a MY12 car.

So to LED your MY12 RRS, you'll need 15 W5W bulbs and 4 smaller bulbs (type to be confirmed by LR)
W5W
1 x glove box
2 x for number pate
4 x for bottom of door puddle lights front + rear
2 x rear 'courtesy (map) lights
1 x Boot luggage area
3 x Front centre roof courtesy/map lights
2 x front footwell lights

Smaller (type to be confirmed)
4 x Sunvisor vanity mirror lights

Oh, and if anyone want 10 x festoon style, let me know. Will gladly send to someone if they stick a couple of £'s in a charity box Thumbs Up ON THE WAY: BMW F21 M140i
