2011 Range Rover Sport 3.0 TDV6 HSE Orkney Grey

Advice please

Hi All
I am after buying a Sport and need advice from the people who know best
Basically I am after something 09-10 model in diesel but have heard rumours about both the TDV6 and the 8, V6 turbo issues and the body having to be removed!!! And a crank fault on the V8. Is there any truth to these or am I being told porkies?Plus is there anything I should be looking out for.
Any info would be greatly appreciated as it will be a fair chunk of cash to buy one

Its true that changing rear anti-roll bars (lift body; not remove), turbo-chargers and/or exhaust manifold gaskets require body off (3/4hrs) but its quite rare.

Buy one with a warranty and enjoy it.

As above, buy one from a LR Dealer with a full warranty and don't worry...... Gone:

get one preferably still with manufacturers warranty (3 years in UK) and if not add on another year (about £800)

personally I would not enjoy my ownership nearly as much as I do, if I was constantly worried about the potential for some very expensive issues, such as the ones you mention

Go for a 59/10 plate as the dash is sooo much better with better build quality 10 TDV8 Santorini

Thanks for the advice,
Can I get the extended warranty from any dealer/ Trade sale or does it have to be authorised Land Rover, Guy Salmon etc.
Any preference to V6 or V8 ?

You can get an extended L/R warranty no problem if you motor still has the manufacturers warranty, and is due to run out, however, if your manufacturers warranty has expired, then you can still get a L/R warranty providing that your motor has a full service history and you will have to pay for your vehicle to be inspected by your local dealer to check that there isn't any nasty surprises for them before they sell you a warranty.
