United Kingdom 2005 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Zermatt Silver
New RRS Owner, cam belt service advice!

I'm collecting my 05 TDV6 HSE on Friday, thanks already for the help contained in the forums!
It is 76k miles but 7 years old so due a 105k belt service.
A) is this desperate to be done despite the mileage?
B) should I get the rear belt changed as well? ( I have been given advice that it can just be recovered and fixed if it breaks)
C) are there any South West owners that can recommend a garage with good knowledge of these cars. (I'm in Torquay)

Thanks in advance!

A) always always always get the timing belts done on time or early the cost of a replacement engine is £5.5k service exchange from LR plus fitting..... A timing belt service is anywhere between 350 and £1000 depends where you go.

B) correct, it will just break down. But may as well get t done otherwise you'll always be thinking about when is it going to go....

C) Steve Norman on disco3 is based a little futher north toward Yeovil but has a great reputation and reasonable costs. Bodsys Brake Bible

Thanks Bodsy, thought you'd say that!
I've spoken to Steve Norman, he quoted £525 inc VAT for both belts, and £250 on top for the rest of the 84 mth service, which is cheaper than Matford Land Rover by some way...
Having done some research I've spoken to Blackdown 4x4, East Devon, who seem knowledgable and helpful, at present they are doing a genuine full belt change for £395 and will do the oil and filter on top for the cost of those parts whilst they are in there, which is an extra £50. Seems reasonable to me as the car isn't quite due a full service but I do want to get the belts done straight away!
Does anyone have any experience of Blackdown?

I'd advise that you change all the idlers and not just the one that comes with the timing belt. I suspect Steve's price includes them all.

Consider if you want to change the water pump as well. It's only about £70ish and they should charge you any more really as everything has come off and it's only a few more bolts. Thumbs Up Bodsys Brake Bible

Thanks again, that's great. I'll make sure I factor in the extra idlers when looking at the prices and see if I can attach to a water pump.
It might mean I have to wait for my window tints and side steps, but I think I know where the money is better spent!
